the retreat

This mountain retreat consists of 19 furnished units, a clubhouse, swimming pool and spa. Tonopalo makes the most of a compact site with south-facing buildings that capture expansive views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and Lake Tahoe.

the design

The design was achieved through the careful “layering” of low angles and well placed barriers, which enabled wide open focused views along with privacy.
